Project Description

Tonn and Blank had the honor of acting as Construction Manager for upgrades at the Bishop John M. D’Arcy Stadium on the west side of the University of Saint Francis campus – home to the only collegiate football program in Fort Wayne.  Bishop D’Arcy Stadium is a 3,500-seat multi-purpose versatile venue not only for football but also USF men’s and women’s soccer, community youth football, soccer, and lacrosse programs.

The new facility includes updates that enhance both the training and spectator environment for athletes and community members – a well deserved update for the back-to-back champions – go Cougars!

Our team installed heating elements on platforms to keep the suites warmer in winter months. If you’re from the Midwest, you know how painfully frigid football games can be November through February! The existing bench seating was replaced with stadium chairs for a more comfortable experience.

To improve privacy among parties, the area was transformed into six distinct suites using metal panels and glass dividers. Each suite was equipped with new countertops and an area for catering.

Mike McCaffrey, USF athletic director, said “Any time you do something for the student-athletes they get excited,” McCaffrey said. “We saw that on social media a little bit yesterday when we put some pictures out and guys were retweeting it.”

In addition to the upgrades at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium, including new turf and luxury suites, FWFC’s main owner, Mark Music, will donate a new high-definition video board to replace the current scoreboard.

We’re happy to provide the Fort Wayne community with facility updates for the 2023 school year.
