The square footage of the Emergency Department expanded from about 3,500 to 15,000 square feet. This expansion project provided the department with ample space to care for the nearly 20,000 patients it sees each year. Along with the key features of the project listed below, the new ED project included new negative air flow rooms and a decontamination shower area in the ambulance garage.
