Hands-On Learning with Purdue University
Our Lafayette team recently had the opportunity to collaborate with students at Purdue University, bridging the gap between classroom concepts and real-world construction. There’s nothing quite like hands-on experience to bring learning to life, and we were thrilled to guide these future builders through key aspects of framing and layout.
Throughout the day, our team worked alongside students to develop essential construction skills, including:
- Reading Framing Drawings: Understanding construction plans and translating them into on-site execution.
- Layout Precision: Transferring layout for walls, doors, and windows with accuracy, a fundamental skill for any builder.
- Framing & Rough Openings: Constructing walls and installing strong headers to ensure structural integrity.
We love sharing our expertise and inspiring the next generation of construction professionals. A special shout-out to Jason (Project Engineer) and Kirt (Superintendent) for their leadership and hands-on guidance during this event. Their dedication to mentorship made a significant impact on the students, setting them up for success in their future careers.
A huge thank you to Purdue University for hosting us – we can’t wait to be back for more hands-on learning and industry collaboration!
